Our founding partner José Roca participated as a speaker at Forinvest, in an expert panel dedicated to financing and alternative resources for businesses. He highlighted the need for companies to expand their range of financiers in order to access the liquidity they need to fulfill their business plans: “Economic instability is the new normal, and this forces companies to seek new financing formulas because they can no longer meet all their needs by doing the same old thing. Alternative banking can complement traditional financing and offer new possibilities and formulas that provide tailored solutions for each company.”

The discussion analyzed the various financing sources currently available to Spanish SMEs. José Roca explained that there is still a strong dependence on traditional banking in Spain, but alternative financing already accounts for around 25% of the total. “This figure will grow, as it is still far from the 50% covered by alternative banking in the Anglo-Saxon world. Alternative banking is nothing more than any physical or legal entity with liquidity and willing to lend. Financiers emerge constantly, offering multiple options and infinite flexibility. They come in all types and with diverse interests: specialists in sectors, product types, or operations… they cover every need.”
He also explained how Kaizen Consulting helps companies find the best options within a vast financial market. “Specialized advice is necessary to access the right financier. We have expertise in both traditional and alternative banking not only in Spain but internationally as well. We also help SMEs understand how to present their business plans. The financier market is increasingly demanding, and they need to know your plans in detail; it’s the only way to build trust with those who will finance you.” José Roca cited rentback operations as a successful example, allowing companies to monetize their assets and continue using them.
